You spend your days making other people's businesses run smoothly. Your own website shouldn't be the thing that's held together with sellotape. A clean, hand-coded one-page site with everything a prospective client needs. Home, services, pricing, reviews, contact, about. Built by someone who actually does this work and understands what your ideal client needs to see. Three ways to pay, from £495. No agency prices.
A live one-page VA site I built recently for HeadStart VA. Six sections on a single page, scroll to see the lot. Her niches, services and pricing laid out properly, a working contact form, reviews section. Have a look around.
Live example: headstartva.co.uk
There's a well-known service offering VA websites at £99/year plus £75 setup. On the surface it looks far cheaper. Pay for five years and you're at £570, still paying, still renting. Pay me £495 once and the site is yours for good.
The same site, the same quality, whichever way you choose to pay. Built properly, configured properly, tested before it goes anywhere near live.
Domain DNS, email mailboxes and email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) are included on Build & Host and Pay Monthly. On Build Only you'll host and configure these yourself, or I can do it as ad-hoc work. Anything beyond the core scope (blog, booking system, lead magnet download, extra pages, custom integrations) is an additional feature, quoted separately.
A clean, password-protected admin area where you can update the content on your site whenever you like. Tweak your about section, change your service descriptions, update your pricing, edit your hero text, swap photos. No fiddling with code. No waiting on me for small changes.
Feedback and testimonials are handled separately via a public form that's built into every site as standard, so clients can leave reviews without you having to do anything.
Don't want to touch it? That's fine too. Drop me a message and I'll sort changes ad-hoc at my normal rate. The admin panel is there if you want it, ignored if you don't.
Pay once and host it yourself, pay a bit more and let me host it for you, or spread it over 12 months. Same build, same quality, whichever you pick.
Own it outright from day one. You sort your own hosting.
One-off fixed price
Same build, hosted with me. First year of hosting included.
One-off · first year hosting included
Spread the cost over 12 months. Hosted with me the whole time.
11 payments of £49.99, £45.11 in month 12 · £595 total
Straightforward, no messing about. From first chat to live site in about ten working days.
Phone, WhatsApp, email. Tell me about your niches, your ideal client, and what you want the site to do for your business. No jargon, no hard sell.
A simple list of what I need. Services, niches, a bit about you, any testimonials you've already got. Doesn't need to be perfectly worded.
You get on with your clients. I put the site together, configure the domain, set up the emails and test everything properly.
You see it before it goes live. One round of reasonable changes. Then we push it live and you've got a site that actually sells your services.
“Absolutely a 5 star experience working with Rory. He is efficient, professional and takes the time to find out what you actually want from his services. A business connection you can rely on. Wholeheartedly recommend.”Tracy, HeadStart VA
It's a one-page website. Everything lives on a single scrolling page, broken into six sections: home, services, pricing, reviews, contact, and about. Cookie and privacy policies are pop-up modals that open in place, so everything stays on one page. For a VA business, this is genuinely the right format. Your prospective clients don't want to click around five separate pages to find what you do and how much it costs. They want it all in one place, easy to scan. Single-page sites load faster, rank well on Google, and look properly modern. If you later decide you need more (a blog, case study pages, lead magnets, booking integrations), those are additional features I can add for you, quoted separately based on what you need.
They're all fine for getting online quickly, but they come with trade-offs. Template-based sites tend to look the same after a while because they're built on shared foundations. With the cheap yearly services specifically, you're renting access rather than owning the site, so stop paying and you lose it. A custom build means yours stands out, loads faster, ranks better on Google, the copy sounds like you rather than a template, and once it's paid for it genuinely belongs to you. You're selling expertise and trust to your clients, your website needs to reflect that.
It's included as standard on every site I build. A simple, password-protected dashboard on your own domain. Log in, pick the section you want to update, make the change, save it. You can edit the text on your pages, update your services, tweak your about section, adjust your pricing, swap photos and so on. It's nothing like the WordPress admin chaos, it only shows you the bits that are safe to edit so you can't accidentally break anything. Testimonials aren't added through the admin panel, they come in automatically via the feedback form that's built into every site. If you want a look at what it's like, ask and I'll show you a demo when we chat.
Not at all. If you'd rather not touch it, just drop me a message when you need a change and I'll sort it ad-hoc at my normal hourly rate. The admin panel is there for VAs who prefer to tinker, update things the moment they think of it, or just like having full control. It's just as valid to never log in.
Every site I build includes a feedback form as standard, which is separate from the admin panel. Clients fill it in on your site and their review appears on your testimonials section automatically. You get a notification so you know it's landed, but you never have to copy-paste a review into your site again.
Comes down to two things. One, do you already have hosting, or do you want me to handle that? Two, do you want to pay once or spread the cost? If you've already got hosting somewhere (or you're confident sorting your own), go with Build Only at £495. If you'd rather have it all handled end to end, Build & Host at £595 gives you the first year included, then renews at £100/year. If you'd rather spread the cost, Pay Monthly lets you do that at £49.99 a month, with a smaller final payment in month 12 to bring the total to £595. I'll tell you straight which makes most sense when we have a quick chat.
12 months. That's £49.99 a month for 11 months, then £45.11 in month 12 to square it off at £595 (the same as Build & Host). Covers the build and includes hosting throughout. After the 12th payment the build is paid for and you own the files. You can take them and leave, or keep the site live on my hosting at £100/year. 30 days notice either way.
Yes. You register and own the domain yourself, in your name. That keeps things clean. The domain belongs to you from day one, whatever happens with the website. Domain registration is usually around £10-15 a year depending on the extension. If you haven't got a domain yet I'll help you pick one and point you to a decent registrar.
On Build & Host and Pay Monthly, professional email addresses on your own domain are included. Proper ones that look like you@yourvabusiness.co.uk, with SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX configured cleanly at launch. On Build Only you'll sort mailboxes through your own host or Google Workspace, and configure the email authentication yourself (or I can do it as ad-hoc work if you'd rather). Either way the site itself is built to work with whatever email setup you end up with.
Not at all. I specialise in websites, tech, admin support and a handful of other things, and I work with small business owners, not predominantly VAs. I won't be poaching your clients. What it does mean is that I actually understand what VAs do, how you position yourself, what niches look like, and how to talk about your services in a way that lands. Plenty of web designers build VA sites without having a clue what a VA actually is.
Three options. Do it yourself through the admin panel (the easiest route for most things). Message me and I'll sort it ad-hoc at my normal hourly rate. Or if it's a bigger piece of work like a redesign or a new section, I'll quote that separately. A custom PHP site doesn't need a care plan, it just sits there doing its job, so there's no monthly retainer to worry about.
On Build Only you already own the files. Nothing to leave. On Build & Host, when hosting renewal comes round you can either renew at £100/year, or take the files and move elsewhere. On Pay Monthly, after the 12th payment you own the files, and you can either stay on hosting at £100/year or take them and go. Your domain is yours throughout, so that moves with you automatically. No drama, no hostage-taking.
Two reasons, really. First, I'm one person working from home, not an agency with an office and a team of account managers. No marketing department to pay for. Second, a VA website is genuinely only a few thousand lines of hand-written code. Once you know what you're doing, that's not a huge amount of work. Agencies price based on what the market will bear. I price based on what it actually takes. You're paying for the website, not the padding.
Quick chat, no pressure, no sales pitch. Tell me about your business and I'll walk you through what happens next.
